About
the Course
The course is designed to provide intensive training in the basics of economic
development. It is designed to
serve those who are new to the economic
development field, including those working for state or local economic
development agencies (private, civil or public), chambers of commerce,
industrial developers, urban planning or
community development agencies,
Indian reservations, the Economic Development Administration or similar
establishments. This course also updates the skills of those with more
experience. Volunteer economic development
workers for groups mentioned
above, as well as members of city councils, boards of supervisors or state
legislators are
also welcome.
The
Arizona Economic Development Course is accredited by International Economic Development Council.
This course qualifies as a professional development training requirement needed to sit for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) examination.

Certification
Certification of completion of this economic development course is
required for admission to the Economic Development Institute.
There is
no examination. Completion certificates will be presented to those who
have satisfied IEDC attendance requirements.
The 2010 Course will be held from Jan. 24 - 28 at the Windmill Suites in Tucson.

materials and refreshments throughout the week.
