The Office of Arid
Lands Studies
Since 1990 Julie has been employed at The University of Arizona. She joined the Office of Arid Lands Studies and the Economic Development Research Program in 1995 where she is the Assistant to both Directors. In her capacity as Assistant to the Directors she has a variety of tasks. Raised in Minnesota Miss Stefanic moved to Tucson in 1986. Married since 1997 to Craig, they have blended a family of six children, Nicholas (U.S. Army); John (U.S. Marine Corps & Married), Beryl (University of Arizona Student); Kayde; Yuri; and Zoe. They have a wonderful daughter-in-law, Polly, and their pride and joy, their granddaughter, Devyn Lynn. She enjoys volunteering with children. Julie and her family have been hosts to foreign exchange students from Norway, Sweden, and Germany. She is Past President of the Homer Davis Elementary School PTA (1990-1994), where the Flowing Wells School District named her Volunteer of the Year. The Office of Arid Lands Studies presented her with the Employee of the Year Award and she is currently the active office coordinator for the United Way and other office activities. Miss Stefanic received her certificate from the Arizona Economic Development Course in 1997. Julie enjoys spending her time with her family and friends, baking, cooking, dining out and traveling. |
